What Is Epoxy Resin?
An epoxy resin, or polyepoxide, is a thermosetting polymer (the resin) that hardens when mixed with a catalyst or hardener. The most common epoxy resins result from a reaction between bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin; bisphenol A is made from phenol and acetone.
